Piano en klavecimbellessen Christina Kwon

IMG_0419Interested in piano lessons? It’s never too late or too early*

Interested in harpsichord lessons? Let’s dive into the wonders of early music!

I have taught a wide spectrum of students of all ages and levels since 2006, including working with very young children, starting as early as 3 years old*

My teaching methods and approach to playing the piano is largely based on the privately published relaxation techniques of Magda Tagliaferro, which I studied with Tagliaferro’s protégé Daisy de Luca Jaffé. Students are taught physical freedom and relaxation of the body to connect to the instrument for their authentic musicality and personal enjoyment. I am also a specialist in harpsichord playing and music from the 16-18th centuries. Harpsichord lessons will include not only learning repertoire and developing technique but also understanding the instrument, tuning, history, and all aspects of historically informed performance (HIP) practice.
